From Tuesday 27 October to 2 November, Avalon is collecting Candy.

Knock on doors for treats, dig in the old graveyard, sit a night in the haunted manor and carve the giant pumpkin. Stand up to the Headless Horseman when he rides through town. Stuck in hospital? Tell a ghost story.

Spend your Candy at Granny Gloam's Stall on this year's Candied Apple, Witch's Brew, Pumpkin Lanterns and Cursed Chests, or save it: the three biggest collectors win a Jack-o'-Lantern Crown.

It all starts on the All Hallows' Eve page on the 27th, and ends at midnight on 2 November.

Adventures used to stop at Stormhold. Past that, every city had a Colosseum, an inn and not much else to do.

Now each one has six adventures of its own. Melon thieves in Edenia. A smoking vent on the volcano in Volantis. A wreck that only shows at low tide in the Whirl Islands. Sealed towers in Icaria, siege tunnels under Altaria, and a desert beyond Egria that nobody has crossed.

The further you travel, the better they pay. Each city also has one adventure that gives a treasure instead of gold, and Egria's tomb holds two you won't find anywhere else.

Icaria, Altaria and Egria have shops now too, so you don't have to walk back to Avalon for Liquorice.

One more thing: avatar uploads are fixed. Any photo up to 5MB works, and it's resized for you.

Altaria and Egria have always been on the map. There was just no way to get there....no map to either city was ever sold.

Now there is a way. Two quests.

The Eagle's Gate. Reach level 65 and win Icaria's Spirit badge, then visit the Fair Maiden Inn in Icaria. Envoy Corvan of Altaria needs someone to clear the raiders out of the mountain pass and walk him home. Do it and he gives you the map to Altaria and 750,000 gold.

Sands of the Omega. Reach level 80 and win Altaria's Eagle badge, then visit the inn in Altaria. Sahira, a desert guide, has lost every caravan this season to Warlord Khazir and his riders. Break them and she draws you the road to Egria, with 1,500,000 gold.

Both Colosseums also have new gladiators. Altaria has three to beat before Guardian Oscuro, and Egria two more before Guardian Eatos.

That makes all eight badges possible. What they open comes later.

Your job no longer pays you in your sleep.

Once a day, go to your job and press Work a shift. You get your pay and your Strength and Intelligence for the day, and the shift counts toward your next promotion.

Promotions now take workdays as well as stats. Your job page shows exactly what you still need. The stronger you are and the longer you've served in a profession, the more each shift pays.

Palace workers: after Page, you choose Herald or Guard, and you can switch between them.
